Jim Anstey is an associate in our Ottawa office. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2004, having graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2003. Prior to attending law school, Jim completed a Bachelor of Arts (French and Political Science) at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

Professional Experience
- Mr. Anstey's health law practice primarily involves acting on behalf of healthcare institutions and their employees in medical malpractice actions, as counsel to the Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC).
- Mr. Anstey's work for healthcare institutions also finds him defending wrongful dismissal and occupiers' liability claims. He has participated in a Coroner's Inquest and has also acted on behalf of nurses in response to complaints made to the College of Nurses of Ontario and reviewed by the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board.
- Mr. Anstey's labour and employment law practice primarily involves providing advice on employee terminations, legal representation in wrongful dismissal claims and grievance arbitrations, and advice and representation for institutions and individuals involved in human rights proceedings.
- Mr. Anstey is a regular speaker at health law and employment law events and has instructed university students in health administration and human resources courses.
